Board Chair, Dr Lesley van Schoubroeck, has announced that Mr David Butt has been selected to lead GROW into the future. David’s tenure begins in late June 2019.

For 60 years GROW has been Australia’s premier provider of peer group based mental health services.

Dr van Schoubroeck says David Butt comes to GROW with a record of very significant achievement at the highest levels in Government, the not-for-profit sector and in the area of mental health and wellbeing.

“David Butt has the experience, achievements, and contacts that place him in good stead to ensure GROW continues to be the leader in peer group support for people with mental health issues, through the delivery of our widely respected programs of recovery and personal growth.

“These programs are based on the original GROW Program, that has been informed by more than 60 years of lived experience. The Program is now delivered online through eGROW, as well as face to face and has been further developed to include early intervention programs such as Get Growing, delivered in schools.

“Our annual Odd Socks Day raises awareness and starts open and honest conversations about mental health. Australians are encouraged to wear odd socks to show that anyone can have an odd day.”

GROW is a national Organisation that assists people suffering mental health problems to recover and maintain good mental health. The Program helps people to help themselves, to overcome the obstacles they face and to live a life full of hope, meaning and optimism. GROW’s Programs are directly informed by consumer experience, ensuring they are evidence based and relevant.

GROW is proud to be a community of excellence in consumer engagement, mutual help and peer support.
