Social Housing
GROW’s Social Housing supports people who may be struggling to find affordable and stable rental accommodation in the private market.
Social housing is designed to provide longer-term, affordable rental options for eligible people on low to moderate incomes. In NSW, this type of housing is delivered through Homes NSW, registered community housing providers and other housing organisations.
These organisations work within the NSW social housing system to help people access housing that is safe, suitable and affordable.
How to apply
Applications for social housing in NSW are managed through Housing Pathways.
Housing Pathways provides one coordinated application and assessment process for people seeking social housing or other forms of housing assistance. Eligible applicants are placed on the NSW Housing Register, which is used by participating housing providers when suitable properties become available.
As part of your application, you may nominate whether you would like to be considered for housing through Homes NSW, a community housing provider, or both. Being open to more than one provider may give you access to a wider range of available housing options.
